Innis & Gunn Oloroso Cask

-------

Oloroso is a type of fortified wine, produced in Jerez, Spain. Oloroso means 'scented' in spanish, an apt name for a wine that has such a rich, aromatic quality.
It is for this reason that Oloroso casks are so highly prized by Scotch Whisky distillers who look to source them to mature their spirit.

The casks are now in such short supply and the demand for them so high, that they are becoming harder and harder to find.
We were lucky enough to be able to source some that have been used for Oloroso and Scotch Whisky maturation. The impact on this beer i subtle but unmistakable, adding many layers of depth and complexity.

A word or two about the beer:
We brewed this beer using Innis & Gunn Ale Malt and Crystal Malt, wich together help to impart our signature sweet malty backbone to the brew. The english Fuggle hops provide a balancing earthy bitterness and light fragrant aroma.

The alchemic effect och the casks give the brew its sweet richness and complexity.
A great one to sip and savour on hot summer nights with friends.
